New track from my upcomming album, just insrumental piece following you with no direction Smiling

Hi Lyubomir,

Thanks to the last interview from Pris we know at least a bit more about you.

I have heard, as far as I remember, all your previous works posted on here, and have to repeat that I liked your original approach to composition.

Within this new piece I understand the huge amount of work you have performed to get this result, the production and sound is superb for a 320kps mp3. No doubt I´d like to hear the master wav or aiff to fully comprehend the piece at the full level. I tell this because I can almost hear lots of sounds, looks like orchestral instruments that almost are lost in the compression except for the strings marcato around the minute one, just in the right side channel, but surely there are more. This almost inaudible sounds made me remind of some P. Bouléz works where intentionally some violin lines where also almost inaudible and obscured by other instruments, and when he was asked for this fact, being he also the conductor, he responded something like : "You see this tree.. I am sure you can not see all the leaves but you know they are there".

As far as you have written you don´t want to tell us any story: "just instrumental piece following you with no direction", that is true so the listener has to be very aware of the small details to enjoy the listen of the piece. In my careful listens I have found some interesting points that I want to comment with you:

One of them is the placement of the sounds, not just the panning but the amount of reverb is what takes the listener to an scenario where you find very close percussion lines somewhat closer the main pad and just in front of your face the Koto ? or alike. The piano stands in the middle and some other sound are heard as remote, low level and high reverb.
Into this scenario you play some melodic phrases, and excellent dialogs between the piano and the main pad that looks that are walking very close seeking for Alexandra.

I also should point your rhythmic texture, where you alternate 4/4,3/4, and 2/4, specially just before the second minute, in a very smooth way not as an polyrhythm but for a few seconds the binay and ternary coexist between the piano and the percussion. If it where to be a story I find the latest Koto and piano dialog to be the encounter with Alexandra, very close encounter indeed.

I appreciate a lot you to share your works with us in NM as long as one usually only learn from talented people as you have demonstrated to be.

I also have to tell you that the most of us in NM can read and write in English so I encourage you to participate more in this forum, not just as composer, but also I think you can give us some advice and criticism, we shall appreciate this very much.

Hope to hear more from you
Kind regards
Luis

@Lui Ma - thank you for your detailed review of this track. I haven't expected that. I do appreciate your time to listen and write so long feedback. Alexandra is not a person name just mythic woman in my imagination that I am writting for her.. I wanted this piece to be short and unpredictable, like a story of a life...nothing repeatable and expectable.. The feeling for everyone is different and I wanted to leave such a space without any direction or focusing attention. The strings isntruemnt is not Koto, but Psalter. The track is not seriously mixed, it is in composing version like sound.

I am glad to hear that there is people speaking english here. I am not give up from NM, I am still around but not post much as I do not see much english around. Still the basic of the forum is spanish..But I am always here Smiling Thanks for reminding that point, it is always good to hear someone value or want your oppinion.

@Abelardo Vázquez - thank you for the feedback. Is is good that the track made such impact to you.
