It gives the impression of which the scene is loaded with symbolisms, (the crow, the wasteful milk, the child who starts reading ...). On if adapts more or less, or his quality compositive, I believe that it is very "Russian" (the use of the choirs resembles classic sonorities of your country).
The music work´s very good, it´s very beautiful. But, i don´t know the original novel, so, i can´t apreciated all emotional load of this escene.
